BSB50420 – Diploma of Leadership and Management

The BSB50420 – Diploma of Leadership and Management (104360M) is a qualification that prepares individuals to effectively apply their knowledge, practical skills, and experience in leadership and management within various enterprise and industry contexts.

At this level, individuals demonstrate initiative and judgement in planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring their own workload as well as the workload of others. They utilize communication skills to support individuals and teams in meeting organizational or enterprise requirements. Moreover, they are capable of planning, designing, applying, and evaluating solutions to unpredictable problems, while also analyzing and synthesizing information from diverse sources.

Assessment methods may include knowledge questions, projects, written reports, portfolios of work, assignments, case studies, self-assessment, observation, and role play.

All assessments adhere to the principles of assessment (fairness, flexibility, validity, and reliability) and the rules of evidence (validity, sufficiency, authenticity, and currency).

Upon completion of the BSB50420 – Diploma of Leadership and Management (104360M) qualification, students will have developed the following abilities:

Apsley College has the following entry requirements for international students:

• Age requirement: Must be at least 18 years old and have completed Year 12 or an equivalent qualification.
• Course entry interview: Participation in a course entry interview to assess suitability and student needs.
• English language competence: Minimum IELTS* score of 5.5 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). Alternatively, English language competence can be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
• Educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country.
• Successful completion of an English Placement Test.

*Note: Other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL may be accepted. Results must be equivalent to IELTS 5.5.

All students are required to complete a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) test before starting the course.

Credit transfer applications must be accompanied by appropriate documentation, such as nationally recognized qualification certificates, transcripts, or statements of attainment. These documents should correspond with the same qualification code, name, unit code, and title as those included in the student application.
